Day trips -
Throughout the year we run day trips for those who want to try out the delights of sailing in these beautiful living waters, watching out for wildlife surrounded by the dramatic, historic west coast scenery. Selkie can take up to 10 guests for a day sail. A typical itinerary sailing from Eigg. We would meet you at 9am for a briefing, don life jackets and head out to Selkie in the dinghy. Once onboard you will be shown around the boat and we would prepare to leave. You can help as much or as little as you want with the boat manoeuvres. It's a great confidence builder learning to hoist a sail, take a reef, helm the boat. Lots of tea and biscuits to enjoy in the cockpit. We sail for a few hours then anchor, enjoy the packed lunch you've bought either onboard, or during a visit ashore before heading to our drop off point. In 2017 our Eigg departures circumnavigated Eigg, visited the Puffin Colony at Horse Island on Muck, sailed to Harris and Dibidil on Rum, and to Singing Sands at Loch Kentra.
Contact me to find out availability and arrange where you want to sail from. I do pick ups at Eigg, Knoydart, Mallaig, Rum, Arisaig Sound and anywhere I can get the boat to you. Have a look at Selkie Explorer reviews on trip advisor to see what other people have thought of their experience.
Trips are generally 8 hours and you will need to bring a packed lunch. Prices vary depending on itinerary but an 8 hour trip starting and returning to Eigg costs £90.
